Concrete. Steel. Charred wood. Kevlar. Jerome Byron lets the materials do the talking.
Â
Architect, furniture designer and founding partner of LA-based Office of BC — recognized by AD100 and Elle Decor’s A-List. Byron’s practice spans built architecture, custom interiors and one-of-a-kind furniture objects, bridging formal training from Pratt and Harvard GSD with intuitive making. His work has been exhibited by Carpenters Workshop Gallery and translated into a commercial line with CB2. His pieces speak through material clarity and physical presence alone.
“I am assembling references from the architecture, found objects, the existing collection of the client and always gauging their willingness to take on a bit of risk, or push the project in an unexpected way,’
Jerome Byron’s work spans sustainably sourced oak, hand-laid Kevlar, concrete and charred wood. Materials chosen not for aesthetics alone but for what they represent. Each piece reframes the familiar: a bench as architectural argument, a dining table as site of protection and gathering. He creates gorgeous functional objects that refuse to be only that.
Jerome Byron is proof that the most powerful design doesn’t need a story attached – it just needs to be undeniable in the room. Concrete, steel, charred wood and now sustainably sourced oak, he works in materials that have weight and consequence. The moment where the curve meets the sculptural leg shows his philosophy at work. Currently collaborating with AD100, Harvard, Carpenters Workshop Gallery and CB2 in the same breath, He’s on fire.
