Designer Spotlight | Justina Blakeney

Justina Blakeney

pattern, object & interior designer

Justina made color, culture and personal story impossible for the design world to ignore.

Multidisciplinary designer, artist, NYT bestselling author and founder of Jungalow : the lifestyle brand that started as a blog and became a movement. California raised, culturally blended and drawing on nature, pattern and intuition as her primary design tools. AD100. Vogue. Architectural Digest. Over 3 million followers. And a product line accessible enough to actually shop. Justina Blakeney is not playing around.

When we think about art and design, we think about what it looks like. I really try to make it about what it feels like—that kind of visceral response that people have to a space, where you walk in somewhere and are in awe and you’re looking around with that feeling of, ‘Wow, I am surrounded by beauty,’ or wonder or surprise or calm.”

Domino Magazine, October 2023

Jungalow is the living, breathing extension of Justina’s creative practice : wallpaper, textiles, furniture, art prints and home décor rooted in the belief that your home should look like you. Pattern on pattern, color on color, nature woven into every surface. Maximalism with intention, joy as a design philosophy.

Why We Love Her

Justina Blakeney walked into a design world dominated by minimalism and sameness and essentially said – no thank you. She built Jungalow from a blog into a movement, proved that color and culture belong in every room, and made it accessible enough that you don’t need a design budget to live in a space that feels like yours. Joy as resistance. Nature as healer. And creativity as a vital force.
