Marcus Samuelsson Leather Bar & Counter Stools

Created in collaboration with Marcus Samuelsson. Top-grain leather stools with a solid wood frame, in counter and bar heights. Available in 23 colors and fabrics and 2 wood finishes, so the price runs from $549 to $1,298 depending on what you pick. Fair Trade certified, Greenguard certified and contract grade.

Every screen shows color a little differently. (Remember the blue-or-gold dress?) For a truer look, turn your brightness up, switch off night mode or any blue-light filter, and check it in daylight if you can.

Why we always say get a sample first:

• See the scale. A sample shows how big the pattern really is, or how strong the color reads, against your actual space.
• Feel it. Texture changes how a room looks, feels and holds up. Touch it before you commit.
• Watch the light. Put it where it’ll live and look at it morning, noon and night. Daylight and lamps can make the same color look totally different.

Order a sample from West Elm first. It adds a few days, but it’s the best way to know you’ll love it, and it saves you the hassle of a return.
