Hi! If this is your first time here, welcome.
Empyrean Roots has been a long, layered idea taking its time to become real. A design-led home platform shaped by beauty, heritage, craftsmanship, and the way we actually live now. It’s a place not only to honor and archive the greatness of our community and culture, but also to spread awareness and grow and learn together.
Summer felt like the right time to finally let something I planted years ago bloom. This season always shows up before I’m ready, but this year it really snuck up on me.
You know those warm mornings when the light hangs around a little longer and nobody’s in a rush? That’s the feeling I want, for me and for this space. Slow down and soak it all in.
Summer brings out the best parts of our rhythm. Our skin glistens, the sun greets us with a warm hug, and our curls get to flow free or reach toward the sky, air-dried by all that sunshine. I’m looking forward to running barefoot through fields and picking flowers for bouquets. Walking through the garden as I plan and plant, the air feels different. Sunsets that last for hours, made for porch chilling and kiki-ing. Soft cotton sheets (linen ones are on my vision board) after a fresh shower at the end of the day. A home that feels like it finally exhaled, happy our season is here.

I built this space for people who care less about the latest trends and more about the things that last. The grain of a well-made table. The vibrant color-blocking of prints and papers. The soft weight of linen in July. The way a room changes when the right object finally comes home, and the pride and joy that fills the stories as you share space with your people. But most importantly, I built it for us, who sit at the center of our own design story. Not in the margins, not as an afterthought. At the center.
Underneath it all is US, the craft, the skill, the makers, and the lineage that shapes how we see and how we choose. I don’t intend to make this space too academic or heavy, but it may appear occasionally; it’s simply the truth of the work. It’s finally an opportunity to give the attention to the craftspeople, makers, designers, and artists year-round, not just in February or for false allyship, but because it deserves it and it’s long overdue.
Whether you just subscribed or wandered over from the shop, I’m so glad you’re here. There’s something special about building a space and watching the right people find it.
So stay a while and look around. Let’s build this together, slowly, with intention and a whole lot of joy.
More soon,
-Ashleigh
