Designed by Sandra Githinji Studio for the Black in Design Collective. Born in Kenya and raised in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia, Githinji centers her designs on an African perspective. Toron references the traditional architecture of the African peoples of the Sahel and Sudanian grassland regions, with facades decorated with bundles of rodier palm sticks called 'toron' that project from the wall as a type of scaffolding.
